Food & Supply Shortages-
As you may have heard on the news, supply chain shortages are happening in all areas of food production and service across the US. The EVSD Food Services Department is starting to see those shortages and the effects they have at the school level too. Some of these supply shortages include plastic products, like lunch plates or utensils (sporks). While others are affecting the foods that are available to order from our vendors.
What does this mean for our families? The EVSD wants to assure our families that our Food Services Department will continue to offer free, healthy meal options for all of our East Valley students. Due to the possibility of last-minute menu changes, we will not be printing a paper copy of the monthly meal menu to send home with students. The menu will still be available online: EVSD Meal Menu. With the possibility of meal changes with little notice, we do not want to disappoint our students (or staff) if a certain main or side dish is not available that day as previously planned. Thank you for understanding.
IMPORTANT: Some products that are served at East Valley Schools may be processed in a facility that also processes peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, milk, egg, fish, and shellfish. When information is available from the manufacturer, the allergen will be noted in the nutrient information found in the online menu.
