Please join us in thanking Andera Zagelow for her dedication to our students and our schools.

Andera Zagelow is one of the beloved school counselors at East Valley Central Middle School. Students praise her for being approachable and for her work to help them create attainable goals and plans for life beyond our schools. Fellow EVC employee, Mrs. Funk, praises Andera stating that she joined EVC, “...during a difficult time and, in her own quiet way, helped our students and staff regain our balance. She is a joy to work with.” This sentiment is echoed by Mrs. Alexieff who shares that Mrs. Zagelow is, “Very caring, compassionate and... will go out of her way to make sure the students' needs are met at all times.” We thank Mrs. Zagelow for her dedication to our schools and our students!

Cherie Trammell - Paraeducator, Terrace Heights Elementary

On the playground students flock to Mrs. Trammell to share stories of their day; in the classroom, she leads them to success! Mrs. Cherie Trammell has worked for the East Valley School District as a Paraeducator in our elementary schools for 25 years. She grew up in the Valley and chose to work in our District because of the, “...supportive community and how caring everyone at Terrace Heights is.” Of her job she has said, “ The most rewarding part is...the kids and watching them grow as I work with them.” Cherie Trammell deserves an A+ for her dedication to our students, our schools and our East Valley community.

East Valley School District Welcomes Deputy Jake Church

The East Valley School District enthusiastically welcomes, Deputy Jake Church as the District School Resource Officer (SRO). Deputy Church joins the East Valley team as a commissioned officer of the Yakima Sheriff’s department and will be based out of East Valley High School for the 2017-2018 school year. The primary mission of the SRO role is to provide added security for our schools and to, “foster a positive image of deputies and police officers among young people.” The SRO will also, “provide law enforcement services at dances, athletic contests and other public events as needed,” and provide security education for both students and staff.

If you see Deputy Church or his squad car around the community, don’t forget to welcome him with a friendly wave!
