EVHS Note

Thursday, February 13, 2020 @ 12:20 - A note was found on the East Valley High School campus that indicated a possible threat. Administration and law enforcement investigated this immediately and determined that the threat was not credible. We are aware that a picture is being circulated among our students. Please rest assured that we have worked very closely with law enforcement to complete our investigation and do not believe this is a legitimate threat. Thank you for your understanding.

HELP KIDS SET GOALS

According to a report produced by the American Psychological Association on how to engage learners, of the Top 20 Principles From the Psychology For PreK-12 Teaching & Learning, four principles relate directly to student motivation. One way to encourage continuous growth is to help your kids set meaningful goals and then teach them how to monitor their progress in achieving these goals.

Food Safety Alert

CDC, public health and regulatory officials in several states, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating a multistate outbreak of E.coli infections linked to romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, California growing region. CDC is advising that consumers not eat any romaine lettuce harvested from the Salinas, CA growing region.

While we do not serve romaine lettuce in East Valley, we do serve other varieties of lettuce grown in this region. As a precautionary measure, we have disposed of all lettuce and will not be serving any until after Thanksgiving break. When we return next week we will resume serving our students lettuce grown from another region not linked to this outbreak.
