Who's Eligible?

Who is eligible to win Crystal Hop Awards?

Each year we will acknowledge two winners, one from each category:

 

  • Certificated Crystal Hop Award
  • Classified Crystal Hop Award

 

Who is eligible to win for each category?

 

Certificated Crystal Hop Award: Nominees must be classroom teachers or other certificated employees (as listed above) with a teaching credential, that have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to excellence in education. The nominee must be currently employed by the East Valley School District. Nominations previously submitted may be resubmitted. Previous winners are not eligible, this includes those employees that have been awarded the East Valley Crystal Apple Award.


Nominations should reflect the following:

 

1. Focus on the student
    • Nominee's primary focus is on the student, with a positive impact on children
    • Nominee engages enthusiasm and versatility in creative use of resources to support educators and students.
    • Nominee inspires students to attain their maximum potential in life.
    • Nominee shows a love for their profession and exudes positivity.
 
2. Relationship with staff and community
    • Nominee exhibits outstanding peer relationships and develops parental support and respect.
    • Nominee demonstrates dedication to East Valley through their service to our schools and community
 
3. Knowledge of Subjects
    • Individual demonstrates dedication to professional growth and shares knowledge effectively with students and other educational professionals. (Cite original materials and/or curricula developed, publications, innovative instructional methods, or other contributions).
