Financial-Charging Meals/Debt Collection
One full breakfast and one full lunch is available to all students free of charge daily!
Charging for ala carte items and adult meals is not allowed:
- Charging for these items negatively impacts & creates a hardship on the child nutrition program.
How to make a payment:
- Online payments- can be made through Skyward with a credit card.
- In person payments- can be made during school hours with cash or check.
- You may bring or send the funds with your student to the cafeteria.
Collecting Unpaid Meal Debt:
- Households are responsible for any unpaid balances on their student's accounts. (Most of the debt owed on student accounts was accrued before the district qualified for free meals through CEP).
- All households of students with a negative Food Service account balance will receive notifications from the Food Service department requesting payment.
- The Food Services program will work with principals, school counselors, and/or teachers to understand the child and parent’s situation and work with families on a case-by-case basis.
Uncollectable Debt:
An account is deemed uncollectable when the child is no longer a student in the district for at least one month with 2 attempts by phone, email, or mailed letters to contact the household for payment.
